Excellent article my friend. This is exactly what I've been looking for for quite a time now. You have my gratitude man.

I just tried Golf telepathy the name sounds kinda like a scam but decided I'd give it a try to see if the system works.

The Ipod Touch that was just released appears truly light weight! But take a look at the brand new Nano. Its size is humorously small. So little. I can not envision how I would handle that gizmo.

The new Ipod touch looks excellent with its slimness, but the brand new Ipod nano is some intergalactic shit! It's very small!

Glad I Found This Site. Bookmarked For Sure.

You sure do get some excellent traffic. You should think about maybe putting some ads up and making some money off of it. It'll pay some bills, eh? Back on topic, great write-up. Thanks for taking the time to do so.

Arghhh !!! Congress involved in regualting sports ! And it's covered like a national security issue !!!!There should be an article "Why is Congress Involved in Regulating Sports ?"Then when you think of all the corrput, lying politicians in Congress, here they pick on some two-bit sports gladiator to make an example of !!!.....:-)

Hello , what entice you to post an article. This article was extremely interesting, especially since I was searching for thoughts on this subject last Thursday.

It seems like Bud Selig's stupitidity will continue to haunt baseball. The trial is set for April 5. Another baseball season starts with PEDs as a major topic of conversation. Great idea the Mitchelll report. It was supposed to put the Seroid issue behind us but it seems to have put it front and center, year after year......:-)

Incredibly useful info here. BTW, I think I read a particularly similar article on another blog today, truly i'm pretty sure. I 'll check it out and let you know, maybe they copied your content, who knows.

I couldnt agree more!

HOW DARE YOU DELETE MY COMMENT. Nice censorship you've got here

Do you could have any references for what you wrote here?

In related news, one of the women who had sex with Tiger Woods said he never talked about golf during sex. However, he did keep his head down and his left arm straight.

Why is Erecting a Mosque at Ground Zero simply being permitted to occur? I have never heard something so unquestionably silly in all of my life. If this at any time goes to actuality, It could be the scariest thing possible. verna

You made some good points there. I did a search on the topic and found most people will agree with your blog.

What a write!! Very informative also easy to understand. Looking for more such writeups!! Do you have a myspace or a facebook?
I recommended it on digg. The only thing that it's missing is a bit of color. Anyway thank you for this information.

Awesome article , keep going like this :).

All Information that I found on this site helped me a lot. Thanks for your work guys!

Ed Sweeney:

Hey JB,
Sorry you couldn't make it, but glad you checked-in on the comments. Did you see the photos? It was a great weekend and the website will be a great way to keep up on any news that anyone wants to post. A lot of folks were saying we should have a 35th and I agree. Let's face it, we're not getting any younger!
Keep in touch.

Joe Bill Kuester:

After looking at all the blogs I am sure sorry I missed all the fun. It would have been nice to see everyone and catch up. I guess I had the dates mixed up and missed it(Dam radio station summer tour). In the past couple of weeks I have run into a bunch of people from either our class or my sisters. I have even had some hunt me down on MySpace & Facebook. I hope we do another reunion soon. Maybe I can get Charla to call me and remind me like a secretary. LOL

I was very sad to see the post about losing another fellow classmate but I guess as we get older these things do happen.

I hope everyone is doing well and best of luck to everyone. Feel free to email me if you would like.

P.S. I talked to Mike Kolzak today and he is working for Waste Management. I am sure I will run into him from time to time seens how they are one of our clients.

George Michael:

Apologies for not writing sooner but I also wanted to thank Charla, Ed and the other committee members who volunteered their time in putting everything together. Special mention to alum in-law Randal for his fine webmaster contributions, which has certainly enhanced the experience. The video was also good, and 2 thumbs up to Chris/Brad including a shot of "Pretzel Logic" album by long-time favorite Steely Dan. The title song itself is an underappreciated classic (well worth the price of a download) which includes a great commentary on the decline of 1970's footwear - as also illustrated in the DVD!

I enjoyed catching up with everyone at the reunion, many of whom I've known since Highland and Copeland days. As an added benefit I had the chance to meet several other LHS classmates that I really didn't know back in school. So overall, a great time.

Speaking of old friends, Dave your posting was definitely a Cannon shot out of left field for this reader! After 40+ years you think you know someone...My man goes from being the one-time pool shark at Tap 'N Tote to the latter-day class Conscience. Good stuff.

Finally, to Carol: Keep on chatting! Love the stories, and the sense of humor. It sounds like the ski trip will provide plenty of some good new material with Ceil, Lisa, and Karen in the mix.

Charla Bobrick:

Andrea we missed seing you at the reunion.Anne was at the reunion, I know she would have liked to see you.
Anne Whitmore Zepeda is now living in Las Vegas, NV. If you would like her email address I do have it. Jan Fisher I think is in Lindenhurst, IL. But, I have not been able to reach her to talk to her. So that is just a guess.

Andrea Downing Peck:

Classmates, Reading all the comments about the reunion makes me regret even more that I couldn't attend. My oldest daughter is about to head off to college in South Carolina and the bonds she shares with her large circle of friends has reminded me what a special time in one's life high school can be. So, I sit here with a large degree of sadness, knowing that my ties with high school classmates have slipped away over the past three decades. I'm hoping to use this site to reverse that! I've had a chance to touchbase with a few of you through the reunion committee and I'd love to hear from more old friends. It's been fun to read the postings from Doug, Marcy, Karin, Ceil, Charla, Darryl et al. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Anne Whitmore or Jan Fisher? My husband and our two daughters are currently living in the Seattle area - Bainbridge Island, to be exact. Please get in touch with me if any of you get up this way. My email address is thepeckfamily@earthlink.net. I look forward to hearing from more of you. Andrea

Carol Passalaqua:

Karen - Savings seats & being a lodge lizard works for me:) My experience isn't much better than our high school ski club events - still get a little nervous getting off the lifts hehe.

I will get more information closer to Nov. as I was thinking sometime in January or so to go.

Karen (Daluga) Roberts:

Count me in, Carol and Ceil! Oh, one thing...I don't snow ski (water, yes; snow, no). I tried it once with Kathy Darrow and I almost ended up like Sonny Bono! Can I go and be "lodge lizard"? I can be useful...I could hold seats by the fire, "investigate" the bar to be sure the drinks are up to snuff, and if I massage some shoulders, I could write off the trip as a business expense! Karen

Carol Passalaqua:

I just wanted to say (belatedly as I turned around and went on vacation right after our event) that I really enjoyed getting together with everyone and getting a chance to connect with each of you. I have become a major "chatty cathy" in my old age, yet didn't get a chance to get to as many people as I wanted. We definitely need to get together more often than every 10 years and as I told Ceil, maybe we can all get a ski trip together for winter...anyone game??? Carol P. P.S. Ditto what Dave Cannon said I do think we were blessed to have such a great town and group to grow up with..

Carl Franzen:

It was good seeing everyone on Friday night, alot of friendly faces. Sandy says she should have blown off her other engagement and gone. 29 years and going strong soon to be empty nesters in August, two kids in college yikes!

Note-- glad to see i'm not the only old fat gray guy

Carl

Jay Kruckman:

Please let me echo the comments that so many have made, and say what a great time I had catching up with so many of you, and seeing others that I really didn't know in school. I only wish there would've been more time, as there were many I saw in passing that I never got to.

A special Thank You to all of the committee members, who did such a wonderful job of putting this together.
Jay K.

Marge Haqq Molitor:

Hats off to my fellow committee members. Each of you brought your own special talents to make this a great reunion. I was proud to have my son and daughter there so they could see how important it is to share and renew stories and friendships. I hope they will have the same feelings that so many of us have about our time at LHS.

To the Sunday morning crew: Patra, Karin, Joan, Kathy, and Kris. I can't remember the last time I laughed so long and so hard.

When I think of friends and friendship, I am reminded of a favorite song of Kim Muno's, Song for Judith by Judy Collins.

(refrain)
Open the door and come on in I'm so glad to see you my friend you're like a rainbow coming around the bend. And when I see happy it sets my heart free...
Marge

Marcy Marcy Marcy,
The day YOU run out of energy might not ever come, are you kidding me? You were the 5 foot tall version of Jennifer Garner in "Alias"
I would love to catch up sometime. My e-mail is sonofacannon@comcast.net (It was sonofagun but I had to change it !!)

PS: Brick, Jill, Willie, Ceil, Darryl, and Karen, thank you for your kind words. This was actually the first blog I ever wrote. You guys inspired me !!

David

Tom Stock:

Thanks reunion committee for puting together a great event. Although I was only able to attend Friday night, I had a great time. I loved looking at all the family photo's and name badges with our senior pictures on them...I hated the fact that I had to put my glasses on every time I wanted to see. Oh well, that's life. Geographically, I'm not too far away, electronically, we're only a few clicks away from each other. So stay in touch if you want to, I always enjoy and appreciate catching up with old friends and having some laughs along the way.

Take care

Marcy Millar-Falduto:

Hey Everyone:

What a great time-- I wish I could have made sat night to continue the fun and catching up. It's been awhile since seeing many of you and it was just great to reconnect. I am looking forward to the next reunion! From age 48 to 58...yikes! This is the decade where the rubber meets the road in terms of our health and aging. Some things we cannot control, but much we can. SO PLease take ACTIVE care of yourselves...looking forward to seeing you all in 2017 (and truly, hopefully sooner)!!

PS: Dave Cannon: I did not have a chance to see you. With our late start I thought I had the youngest kids (except the Lichters, who have achieved both ends of the spectrum) as my twins are 8. Enjoy!! It does keep us young, though sometimes I wonder where my energy is...

Marcy Millar-Falduto

Karen (Daluga) Roberts:

Okay...here's what not to do when posting. Don't type in MS Word and then cut and paste!

Karen (Daluga) Roberts:

Hi everyone. I don't have the words to express the joy of this reunion. The energy was amazing. Steve and Dave hit the nail on the head. Our class is truly special. I have 3 brothers that graduated from LHS and their classes don't compare to ours. Our closeness is unique and something to be treasured. By the way, next time I'm bringing my brother Doug. I couldn't believe how many of you remembered him. He remembers many of you fondly.

I want to personally thank all those involved in organizing the event. Great job! Thanks to all that attended. I enjoyed catching up with all of you that I talked to. Those that didn't attend, you were missed. Thank you to Daryl A., Dave C., Kathy E., Lisa H. (cuz), Cindy and Hans, Steve L. (both), George M., Carol P., Tom S., Al W., and Jay K. for some special new memories.

I, too, would like to keep in touch. The time at the reunion went too quickly and the next one seems so far away. My email address is trobe0310@msn.com. Feel free to use it! If any of you are ever in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and need a tour guide or want to take in a ball game, contact me. -- Karen

Darryl Awick:

There is nothing to add to the wonderful, heart-felt comments that have already been posted (in any event I do not have the name of Dave Cannon's speech writer), but I would like to express my sincere thanks to all on the reunion committee who obviously spent a great deal of time and effort to create a very successful and memorable event.

I had a great time - it was terrific to see and spend time with all of you again, and, as Steve just said, I regret not getting to know some of you better 30+ years ago. Thanks again to the webmaster Mr. Huiskens for allowing us to stay in contact on this page. Let's not wait another 5-10 years to keep in touch!

Darryl

Charlie Pickrell:

Thank you, everyone, who had anything to do with the reunion planning. It was worth everything to see all of you again. You all look great and I especially appreciate Steve for having less hair that I do! The food was wonderful but the company was even better. May each of you be blessed in all that you do.
I am honored to be your friend.
Charlie Pickrell, RN

Steve Leonhardt:

As I was flying back to San Francisco on Sunday, I couldn't stop thinking that this reunion felt way too short. I've been to all 3 reunions so far, and even though this one had the lowest turnout, I have to say it felt the most enjoyable and relaxing. I would have enjoyed another evening or two of more conversations, laughs and reminiscing with all of you. For those of you I didn't have a chance to talk to, I'm sorry that I missed out on your company.

One thing that struck me was how much more down to earth almost everyone was, compared to the past few reunions. At the 10 year (and to a lesser extent the 20 year), there seemed to be a strong sense of competitiveness with many focused on what colleges they attended, what exciting careers they had chosen, etc. And there still seemed to be some of the old "cliques" in effect. Compare that to this reunion and in my opinion it was a world of difference. Instead of people flaunting their status in life, most everyone was more anxious to discuss how their families have been flourishing, the travels and experiences they've lived, etc. I really felt a sense that everyone had finally been able to let their hair down and be who they really are, without any concerm over status, job, wealth, looks, etc.

I was also struck with these thoughts as well. I talked to so many people I never really had a chance to know at all in high school and was amazed at what great personalities so many of you have. I regret not having made more of an effort to know so many of you way back then, because I know I would have enjoyed your friendships. Many of us had some great friendships back then that somehow we just let slip away. Even after the 10 year and 20 year reunions, the same thing happened to me as I bet it did to you. I said to many people at these reunions that I genuinely wanted to stay in touch. And soon after the reunions were over, I got caught right back up in my normal life, and those good intentions got forgotten. I don't want to let this happen again.

I would really like to resurrect old friendships with many of you whom I've known for 30+ years, and for many of you I talked to for the first time last weekend, I hope to start brand new friendships. I hope that by the time our 40 year reunion arrives, I'll be able to proudly say that I have a great many new friends that I've stayed in touch with these past 10 years.

Sorry for such a long message. One last thing to the reunion committee. Not many people were able to get the booklet showing everyone's information. If there's any way you could post it online, I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it, especially for everyone's contact information.

It was a pleasure seeing all of you last weekend!

Cecilia O'Brien Folz:

Ditto, ditto, ditto. Thanks so much Ed, Marge, Carol, Charla, et al for putting this weekend together. It was great to see so many of you- and bummed I didn't get a chance to say hi to more! Lisa Harris and I agreed to be official hosts for any of you that ever make it out to Vail- so take us up on it! Best to you all forever- Ceil

Willie Roberts:

I've known David Cannon since kindergarten, and I assure you that he hired someone to compose all of his very articulate and right-on comments. Money well-spent, Dave!!!

I would also like to thank everyone involved for putting this thing together. I may not have gotten to touch base with everyone, but I feel very fortunate to have talked with some people with whom I formed very early (Yea Copeland gang!) and special bonds. There is one guy in particular who served as a walking encyclopedia of Copeland and LHS class of '77 memorabilia/trivia, and he came complete with various class pictures, rosters, attendance stats, average number of trips to the bathroom by everyone, height/weights, etc. Thanks to Bill Piest for helping to shake the cob webs off many fun memories!

I have a long list of people that I really enjoyed seeing...and I hope to add to that list in another five or ten years or so.

Thanks again!!!

Willie Roberts

We had a great time!!! I wish to thank the committee for their hard work, and especially "Mayor" Ed Sweeney. He has always cared about us all, and continues to do so. I also wish to thank Randal for keeping his sense of humor during the old boyfriends' introductions...ha! Looking forward to seeing all of you in 5 years, if not before. Hugs & Kisses! Peggi Graham Huiskens

Jill DiPinto Bellamah:

Dave Cannon - thank you for saying what I am sure all of us were thinking. Your comments were perfect!! I had a great time at the reunion and it was awesome seeing and talking to each and everyone of you.
To the reunion committee - thank you for all of your time and dedication to putting this event together. It would not have happened without each and everyone of you.
Willie Roberts - I left without getting your e-mail. I would love to stay in touch. Please e-mail me at jill.bellamah@fiserv.com with your address.
Hope to see all of you in 5 years and talk to many of you until then.
Jill

Mark Bricker:

To Dave Cannon - nice job on your thoughts I want to second them!
To the committee members - Thanks for the time, effort and coordination it took to put this event on - you did a GREAT job. It seemed to flow well both nights. Sue, Butch, Doug,I missed seeing you as I'm sure many of your classmates did - where were you all?
Next time we have a reunion we need to make
t-shirts with names in big letter for everyone who registers early- then we will have a better chance of not calling someone Ed or Pete when their name is Joe or Darryl right Mr Hammon and Mr Awick (I did know ya both by the way)
Brick

David Cannon:

I would like to thank all of my classmates and your families who took the time and effort to come to the 30th LHS reunion. Many overcame some anxiety and family matters, and spent a lot of time and or money traveling just to get here. I appreciate it. Growing up in a town with so many good people was not as apparent as a teenager as it is now. Many of you have done so well for yourselves, and many feel a little slow out of the gates. I am in the latter category. My bachelor fun lasted till I was 40, mostly in southern California, and this is the first reunion since having a family, so a lot has changed for me. Some of you have adult children now, 27, 26, 25, 24 years old. Many have kids in High School and College. I have a girl in pre-school, and a boy going into first grade at Rockland School. I'll be 66 years old when my girl finishes college!! Luckily I am very young at heart! I wish I could have spent more time catching up with so many of you, learning about what you have done, your kids, where you live, etc... Maybe if I win the Big Lotto I could throw a huge party in Hawaii for everyone for about 2 weeks.
That should be about right.
I feel very strongly about the decision to move back to Libertyville to raise my family, and I appreciate you guys staying in touch with your roots. To all of you who came, YOU GET IT!!! You understand the value to yourselves and to our classmates as a group. To our classmates who could of come but didn't, they are missing out on something very important, and we should get in their ear about coming for next time. This life moves so quickly, let's take the time to share it!! The class of 1977 has a lot of class!!!

David Cannon

Sue Gleason (Schultz):

Just to say great job and thank you to the committee. I had an enjoyable time at the reunion. You did an excellent job! It was fun to meet up with friends. There's talk of doing this every five years instead of ten, that would be great. Again thanks to the committee for all your hard work.

Janet Williamson Moreland:

I had a wonderful time on Saturday night. The food was great and the location was perfect. We had a very large room to mingle in and the outdoor patio to gather.
I met many old friends and want to see everyone locally again, not just in another 10 years.
I was also pleased to see I have many classmates in my immediate neighborhood. You can only appreciate this if you were away for 25 years and now you are back in Libertyville.
So therefore hello all!
You all looked Older and Better!!
Janet

Joe Eichelberger:

Sorry I won't be able to make it...sounds like a blast to see everyone again. We had a great time at the last one.

Reading the above postings was fun and brought back a lot of memories.

Have fun this weekend !

Joe

Ed Sweeney:

John,
Yeah, I heard from Peter again over the weekend, and he's planning to be there Saturday (barring any flight delays --- I imagine there's several connections coming all the way from Gilligan's Island..!). Looking forward to catching up with everyone...
Ed

Charla Newman Bobrick:

John, You are right!!! It's Pete Peshut

Peg (Cameron) Gill:

All these blasts from the past. It'll be great to catch up. Hey, Cisco Ceil, will you be at Saturday night's gathering? I don't want to miss you!

Ceil (O'Brien) Folz:

Thanks reunion committee for getting everything organized! Ed- I heard from Lisa Harris that you were in town (Vail) a couple of weeks ago- sorry I missed seeing you then- but looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend!

John Gola:

Hey Ed,that classmate from Pago-Pago wouldn't happen to be Pete Peshut?

Susan Gleason (Schultz):

I think my favorite memory of high school was drama club. The productions, the musicicals, closing night parties, the friendships and of course the fun. Alot of great memories.

Posted by Susan Gleason (Schultz) | June 21, 2007

Willie Roberts:

Hold on a dern minute, here!! I was only VISITING Germany. Don't try to get ME to buy a round... : ) I'm just traveling from KY, USA!

Ed Sweeney:

I dunno Darryl, it's going to be close for Willie coming from Germany...we have a classmate who is supposed to be coming from Pago-Pago, American Samoa. The distance looks like a very close call. We may need to have Google mapping available to confirm who buys...!
Ed

Darryl Awick:

Looking forward to seeing everyone. By the way, I think the person who has traveled the farthest to the reunion should have the honor of buying the first round Friday night. What do you think Willie?

Lizz Johnstone:

I can only make the 'Bar' portion of the reunion but I've been looking forward to seeing everyone for years! Can't wait!

Charlie Pickrell:

It will be great to see everyone that I have not seen since graduation. The trip up from Tennnessee will be fun despite the fact that my wife is not crazy about me traveling on Friday the 13th. See you all soon!

Karin (Nielsen) Kakenmaster:

Hey Kathy, All of us on the reunion committee have had fun at the meetings talking about the old days at LHS and catching up on where everyone is at now. The reunion is sure to be a great time for all who join us to do the same! Looking forward to seeing you! Karin

Kathryn Kinne:

Thank you to the reunion committee for getting this party together, it will be great to see everyone. I have fond memories of time spent with Faith and Denise; will you be at the party?? Butch, Brian, Tim, Kent, Joe, Karin, Kris, Karen and the list goes on and on. Looking forward to visits with everyone. Kak

Marge Haqq Molitor:

Willie I'm on the reunion committee so I will definitely be there. Looking forward to catching up.

Will Roberts:

JoJo! I bet nobody has called you that for awhile, George! Yeah, I remember that you lived on Kenwood...down from the Hoffmans. And I can still hear you doing 'play-by-play' commentary during the wiffleball games that you mentioned...or was it play-by-play during pick-up basketball games?? Both? Anyway, good to hear from you.

Marge! Great to hear from you, too. Yeah, I think I'll make it to the reunion. Depends on if my new toupe' comes in...and if my extensive liposuction is successful. You?

Marge Haqq Molitor:

Hi.I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion! Willie are you coming to the reunion?
I remember Karl Hoffman from 6th grade. I had just moved here and Karl asked me to go steady. My mom found out and I had to break up and give him his ring back. Ha Ha my first boy friend.

George Michael:

Willie - The Hoffmans were neighbors of mine on Kenwood. Their back yard the site of many great wiffle ball games during the summers! They moved to Lincolnshire around the time we were in 8th grade. Karl and his 2 brothers attended HS at Loyola Academy. Lost track after that...

I'm really looking forward to seeing all of you. Hopefully, everyone still looks the same as their yearbook photos...ha!

Will Roberts:

All right, old people! Let's all start making some comments here so we can all see who is interested in and hopefully attending our little class get-together! I happen to be in Germany at the moment, and with thoughts of the reunion sporadically coming to mind, there are a few classmates who also come to mind...namely Carl Franzen and Rita Burg. Did Karl Hoffman graduate with us?? I was good friends with Karl as a young'n but I'm a little hazy on the LHS years with him. I believe he went to a HS in Chicago to play hockey. Anyway....so who's reading this?? Let's hear your comments!

Loyal and True and all that,

Will(ie) Roberts

Karen (Daluga) Roberts:

Hi. I'm looking forward to coming up from Texas to see everyone. I'm glad the reunion is in July...I've gotten to be a whimp when it comes to cold weather!
Karen

Carol Passalaqua:

Hey Guys! As part of the reunion committee, I just want to say that we are all looking forward to having everyone at the event and want to remind anyone who hasn't committed that we need you all to let us know you are coming and oh by the way....send in your money as soon as you can:).

We all want to talk about something other than our aches and pains!
Carol Passalaqua
